Hello!

My name is Loren.

Firstly, you are probably thinking who is this person who goes by her first name only, defining herself as an artist. How very pretentious!

Let me explain, I have for most people, the most unpronounceable surname! My name is Loren Goldenberg-Kosbab.

All my life it has been shortened to just Loren. When everyone else at school was being called by their surnames, I was called by my first name (well the kids didn’t with some colourful variations!), and quite honestly, if you think I can get that baby on a work of art you are sorely mistaken!

Yes, I could do initials or even change my name but that’s who I am, Loren, so for ease and well lets face it, instead of wasting paint on my surname, its always nice to have an element of uniqueness in this world.

Which leads me to my next reason, yes, I could put my full name, like so many do, and yes you would find me easily on the internet, but under artist, not so. So the combination works well for SEO (search engine optimization) purposes.

As for being pretentious, highly unlikely, its not in my nature, being mindful, humble and living life with humility, is more my style.

I shall now try to give you a bit more insight into my background and what I do.

I am a self-taught artist – expressing my creativity via different mediums. Alcohol Inks, Acrylics, Resin, or a mixture of media including Impasto, Gold, Silver or Copper leaf, Mica, even Aerosol Paints in the structure to complete the look I want.

For many years I had expressed my artistic nature via photography. In particular nature, landscape & scenic images as shot, or enhanced using the raw files own pallet to create something a little different. On occasions I even blend images I have taken.

In true Artisan fashion though, I also make Jewellery, Air-dry clay fairy lamps, suncatchers, love needle felting and on occasions even crochet.

I love colour and design which even extends to Web design! This actually is my place of origin with over 20 years experience in the field building clients websites, much of which requires artistic design.

As an individualist I prefer to create unique pieces of art. So my work is not in any particular genre or medium – drawing inspiration from local places of nature such as Ashridge Forest, Hertfordshire, and incorporating my core principles of Spirit Mind Body another aspect of my life.

Commissions are welcome – if you want a unique piece of artwork or a gift for a loved one or friend, have a theme in mind, then please don’t hesitate to ask.

I hope you will enjoy perusing my website and like some of my Art work & Fine Art Photography on display. Check out my latest public showings on my exhibitions page.

For now, I wish you a lovely day!
